A Caring Heart

His Heart, My Desire.....a caring heart.........for those that are hurting.....

There is an epidemic in our country and it is called, Human Trafficking.  We usually think of a foreign country when we hear that word, but it isn't looking too good for America.

There is so much we can do as just one person.  If you go to the following links and read about what is going on with these two ministries, maybe you will find a way to help.  It might be something as simple as sending money to help stop this craziness, making people aware of the problem, encouraging our government to enforce the law, or getting involved regularly with rescuing women and children that are caught in the web of human trafficking.

It's not a pretty picture and it is so much easier to just leave it alone, but we need to speak out for those that can't.

I look forward to hearing what the Lord asks you to do on this subject.

Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.

Reflecting Him Bible Study

I met Carla at a writer's conference a couple of years ago.  She was so much fun to get to know and it has been a joy to watch her ministry blossom.  She has a heart for the Lord and loves to see women walk in victory.  I'm so excited to share her new Bible study with you.

Life is not about me, but all about Him!

REFLECTING HIM

DO YOU SEE JESUS
IN YOUR DAILY ACTIVITIES

OR SAVE HIM FOR EMERGENCIES?

God longs for you to spend your day with Him. Reflecting Him helps you pulls back the veil so you can see how a true relationship with the Lord changes your life. As Jesus becomes a part of everything you do, you will soon be reflecting Him to those around you.
In ten weeks, through Reflecting Him, you will:
  • Realize life is not about me, but all about Him.
  • See daily applications for lessons learned from scripture.
  • Understand how God is directing your life—often without you knowing it.
  • Learn the importance of prayer in your everyday activities.
  • Discover the joyful intimacy of a life filled with Jesus.
  • Realize how your personal relationship with Jesus changes when you make Him part of everything you do.
The study comes in small enough bites to digest, but deep enough content to stimulate change and growth. Carla McDougal’s refreshing authenticity and humorous style lifts you up and encourages you to dig deeper into the Word.

CARLA MCDOUGAL is founder of Reflective Life Ministries headquartered in the Houston, Texas area. Her true passion for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, shines brightly, whether she is speaking or writing. She shares experiences from her own life to encourage women to live every day for Him. God is sending Carla around the world to speak to women from all walks of life—those living in the best of circumstances to those who have hit rock bottom.
Carla’s book, Reflecting Him: Living for Jesus and Loving It, is a 10-week study that encourages you to open your eyes to God’s daily life lessons. The more you ask God to be in your life, the more you will recognize His hand on everything you do. For more information on a growing number of products from Reflective Life Ministries, and to see about booking Carla for an event or interview, go to www.reflectivelifeministries.org.

Pumpkins Make Me Smile

Pumpkins of any size and style, make me smile.  Today, I ran into a little decorating boutique called Jonnie's and found this little pumpkin.  If anything has bling on it, it catches my eye and this little cutie had some bling!  The best part about him was that he was 1/2 price.  I paid $11.00 for this little trinket box pumpkin. :)

Is It Fall, Yet????? (Part 1)

I began decorating for Fall, the day after Labor Day.  I LOVE fall.  In West Texas, it is still hot, dry and dusty, but that doesn't stop me!

I know I'm not the best decorator in the world, but I have to admit, I love giving it a whirl.  I love reading decorating blogs and, of course, decorating magazines.  I decorate my house and then I run over to my moms and work on her house for a while.  I may post pictures of her house next!

I'll post more pictures in my next post...

I Won't Forget That Day!

We were living in Edmond, Oklahoma and I was up and getting ready for a Bible study that began a couple of weeks earlier at our church.  We were new in the church and I really didn't know that many ladies, but I was enjoying the study and our daughter, Patti, had volunteered to work in the child care area taking care of the babies.

I turned on the television to watch the news while I was getting dressed for the day.  As soon as I turned it on, they were showing a plane flying into a building.  I thought it was a small airplane that had accidently hit a tall building.  I stopped to watch and then another plane hit, this one looked much larger to me.  I was shocked at what I was watching.  I went to get Patti so she could see. We watched for a few minutes and then had to finish getting ready so we wouldn't be late.  The more I watched I didn't want to leave so we could find out what all was happening.  I wanted to skip the Bible study, but I thought it wasn't wise for Patti not to show up for nursery duty, so we turned the t.v. off and finished getting ready and headed to the church.  Nathan, our son was at home finishing up his school work.  While at church, no one really said anything, but I couldn't help but think about it all through Bible study and wanting to get home.  As soon as it was over, I rushed to get Patti and we went home as fast as we could. I was worried about Nathan being home alone and couldn't wait to get back.  The rest of the day was spent watching the news coverage in total disbelief.

My heart ached for all those people that were killed that day!  It is still hard to believe that really happened to America.
