Summer 10 Pound Club!
I began a group called "Summer 10 Pound Club." This is a group of ladies that have met since the first of the year in weekly meetings working on the issue of weight loss. We have taken a break for the summer and I will be keeping up with everyone over email. I send out motivational devotions, tips and ideas for losing 10 pounds or more over the summer months until we meet again in the fall. We weigh in each Wednesday and report our loss/gain for the week. Here are the guidelines, if you are interested, you are more than welcome to join in.
"Summer 10 Pound Club"
Each Wednesday will be your "Weigh- In Wednesday." *If you are weighing each week, you will give a report of how much you lost/gained.
If you have chosen to not weigh, you will just report your goals met, etc. Any struggles you are having and your victories. (Through e-mail/phone)
Your goal will be to lose 10 pounds or more through the summer. *You will do this in a healthy and wise manner. Eating sensibly and exercising.
Each day, you will receive by email a short devotional type lesson and or a motivational tool to read and think about.
When we meet together in August, we will have a recognition of those that made the 10 pound club goal of losing 10 or more pounds with prizes. You will receive a cute t-shirt plus another gift for your success!
If you are one that is maintaining, but want to continue on for the motivation etc, you are challenged to not gain over the summer and you still need to check in each week.
*Just because it is summer break, don't give up. Stay strong and keep it up! You will have three months to lose at least 10 pounds, many can lose more. This will be your kick-off for the Fall!
You can do it!

A Graceful Lady!
Her book is finally here! It came out today and I went and bought my copy this morning. I can't wait to start reading it. I saw a commercial for the Oprah show and she was going to be interviewing Laura today. I recorded the program and just finished watching it. What a neat lady she is, so graceful and poised. How fun it was to hear her talk about Midland, Texas, her hometown. When George Bush was our Governor, Laura spoke at a Republican Women's Luncheon that I attended. When we lived in East Tennessee for a short time, she and George made a campaign stop there and we got to see them then too. Another memory I have is when I first got married, I worked for a company called HBF as a receptionist. George W. came in to speak to the president of the company. I only knew that his dad was Vice President then, but wasn't really aware of him at the time, but I remember what he looked like and that he was very serious while waiting in the reception area.
Hope the book is as good as I think it will be. :)
